Sunbows and Sun Ra

Happy September! So, how’s it hanging?! August was an incredibly transformative time for me and I hope that everyone who is reading this has experienced change of some kind for the better. Collectively we’re continuing to experience influxes of intense energies and cosmic downloads. Many lightworkers are well aware that the energies and light upgrades are accelerating ascension in humanity – and with it comes some growing pains. I myself have been having some pressure and pain in the inner ears that radiates down into my jaw. It’s unpleasant but I understand why it is happening and I also know it will subside with time. Whatever the physical symptoms experienced, energetically there is a lot of purging and extraction of old worn out beliefs and negative programming that are not sustainable nor practical in 5D. We are now in 5D but collectively still operating as if we are still confined to the 3D/4D. The veils have dropped, the matrix structures have dissolved or are in the process of doing so, but it will take some time for our consciousness to adjust to the dimensional changes. The time is NOW to start dipping your toes in the waters of 5D to explore and find out what you can do in these new paradigms. In the meantime, maintaining a neutral, observer role in all of your external worldly dealings will help, as you will begin to see some rapid fire changes on a global scale. For some people this will manifest as chaos, but it doesn’t have to manifest that way for you. Follow your light and listen to your heart – your internal compass will lead the way.

This past weekend we had The National Folk Festival in town – a completely free event that featured three days of music spanning multitudes of cultures and traditions as well as artisans and crafts people showcasing their work. The event draws people of all ages, ethnicities and cultures and from all over the country. Our city has hosted this festival for the past three years, this being the last. The festival will move on to Maryland next year.

I went down with a group of friends after work on Sunday and we caught one of the acts called The Sun Ra Arkestra. I had no idea who they were or what sort of music they did until we arrived at the stage. I was just along for the ride. They’re a psychedelic jazz jam band that had been in existence for over 60 years, and they had lots of members, plenty of horns and percussion and a 93 year-old (who looked 73) saxophonist who also had some sort of instrument that made weird, outer space noises and so we called it a Space Flute (I asked everyone I was with if they knew what it was – nobody had a clue). They were all dressed in shiny, glittery garb with scarfs and Egyptian jewelry and head dresses. They were easily the most interesting people in our entire city that day.

The Arkestra started out by “blasting off,” tuning their instruments at full volume and syncing up with one another. It was chaotic at first but as they started getting into it, it only got better. They began to tell stories through their music – haunting melodies, cryptic, almost prophetic lyrics –  definitely “far out.” They sang a lot about outer space and being from other planets. They were very engaging entertainers and I loved them immediately. I noticed a few people leaving after they began (Too weird for them, perhaps?) but I got an intuitive notion that they just couldn’t vibe with it.

I am happy to report that many more people stayed and fell in love with this band. People were grooving, dancing, smiling and were having a fantastic time, including me! We ended up moving from our seats and joining the rather large grouping of people down in front of the stage. I usually don’t enjoy being in a large crowd. I’ve had instances where a crowd was too intense and the vibes too extreme and varied that I nearly passed out. So I typically avoid it altogether. Not this time! The good, loving vibes they were casting over this crowd made me feel an unusual, but quite welcome sense of oneness with all the other people next to me. I was so grateful that this was possible and that this fantastic moment came to me in my home city! I was also very happy for everyone around me. It’s been a rough few weeks for most of the collective, and we all definitely deserve to boogie and have a great time.

During the concert I realized who these people truly are and what their overarching purpose has been all these years. The Sun Ra Arkestra musicians were lightworkers, like me! They had devoted their lives and craft to spreading good, healing vibration through music, expression, color, liveliness and living from the heart center. They do what they love all the time and they share that love with the rest of the world, gently reminding us all of our starry roots and that the time has come for humanity to finally awaken once more to our true nature.

Before writing this blog post I went to The Sun Ra Arkestra website to read their history and see if I could find any more information about their methods and mission. Their founder, Sun Ra, who is now deceased, was not an ordinary man. He never felt like he was from Earth, but from among the stars. As I read through, I realized Sun Ra must have been a Starseed born with an innate knowing and ability to remember his star lineage. He knew what he was doing with his Arkestra when he began it in the 1950s:

“Sun Ra believed that the whole of humanity was in need of waking up. He wanted to slough off old ideas and habits, brush off sleepy clothing and shake off drowsy food. Because present time mattered little to Sun Ra, they say he rarely slept […] Sun Ra read that man exists in habit, but could be awakened from his slumber with sacred songs and dances. Sun Ra vowed to live every moment in anticipation, and he would do so through jazz. Jazz was the music of the restless, the awakened […] In jazz, unity could emerge — even as individual notes seemed in disarray and rhythms seemed uncountable. Jazz demanded discipline and precision, but also an open mind. “A lot of things that some men do […] come from somewhere else,” Sun Ra said, “or they’re inspired by something that’s not of this planet. And jazz was most definitely inspired, because it wasn’t here before.” Jazz was the road to a mystical experience, a sort of reasoned ecstasy. It was the music of elsewhere.”

I also realized after reading the bio that I had guessed correctly about The Sun Ra Arkestra’s main purpose or at least why they were created in the first place. Perhaps I was channeling the spirit of Sun Ra himself. I definitely could feel spirit with me during the concert. I felt a few tingle touches on my arm and could feel the vibes soaring. It is clear that Sun Ra is as much a part of his Arkestra now as he was when he walked the earth.

Sun Ra Brecon Jazz Festival August 1990 England“All of my compositions are meant to depict happiness combined with beauty in a free manner. Happiness, as well as pleasure and beauty, has many degrees of existence; my aim is to express these degrees in sounds which can be understood by the entire world…. The mental impression I intend to convey is that of being alive, vitally alive. The real aim of this music is to coordinate the minds of peoples into an intelligent reach for a better world, and an intelligent approach to the living future.” – Sun Ra (source sunraarkestra.com)

During their incredible performance, I happened to look up towards the sun for whatever reason. I had sunglasses on so the glare didn’t make me glance away immediately and I saw, for the first time ever in my life, a rainbow halo circling the sun. It was SO beautiful. I had heard of rainbow haloes around the moon before, but never around the sun. But somehow I knew that it was referred to as a “sunbow.”

I tried to show my friends but they didn’t have sunglasses on and I didn’t see anyone else noticing it – just me. There must have been 50 middle aged men out there with $3,000 cameras – I wonder if anyone got a picture of it. It was such an incredible sight. I knew that it was not an accident or coincidence. I live in a reality of synchronicity, all day every day, and it never gets old. The sunbow was heralding something – something good – it was promising change. I knew that in my heart. Later that day I researched sun bows and some of the first results that popped up was information regarding the spiritual meanings of these rare sights. They are also known as Sun Dogs or Whirling Rainbows. They were seen by indigenous cultures as heralds of great change. There is also something called The Whirling Rainbow Prophecy. Many of you have heard of this before. It is a promise of peace among all peoples and all nations.

“There will come a day when people of all races, colors, and creeds will put aside their differences. They will come together in love, joining hands in unification, to heal the Earth and all Her children. They will move over the Earth like a great Whirling Rainbow, bringing peace, understanding and healing everywhere they go. Many creatures thought to be extinct or mythical will resurface at this time; the great trees that perished will return almost overnight. All living things will flourish, drawing sustenance from the breast of our Mother, the Earth.

The great spiritual Teachers who walked the Earth and taught the basics of the truths of the Whirling Rainbow Prophecy will return and walk amongst us once more, sharing their power and understanding with all. We will learn how to see and hear in a sacred manner. Men and women will be equals in the way Creator intended them to be; all children will be safe anywhere they want to go. Elders will be respected and valued for their contributions to life. Their wisdom will be sought out. The whole Human race will be called The People and there will be no more war, sickness or hunger forever.”

Miraculously, and right on schedule, the Sunbow and The Sun Ra Arkestra were working together, doing their part to help us arise from our slumber and step back into our power. It is time to awaken and unite as One and I truly witnessed multitudes of seeds being lovingly planted this weekend. There is nothing more potent than the power of LOVE. I am so happy and grateful that I got to be a part of it. It made me feel so good knowing that the outer is starting to match the inner. I am participating in bringing Heaven to Earth and I will always shine my light, and nothing will ever turn me away from this destiny and journey. I am a Rainbow Warrior of Love and Light and I bring Peace and Grace to the world. Heartfelt thanks are in order to all of you out there shining your light, doing your thing. Sharing the song in your heart will help you remember who you are, and in turn, you can shine the light on the rest of the world, so that they may know and remember their true Divinity. Blessings light tribe. I love you all.

Love, T
